Sponge Painting: Mother’s Day Craft for Toddlers

Looking for a simple Mother’s Day craft to make mom, grandma, aunt, great grandma or any other lovely mother in your life? YOU FOUND IT! This activity requires minimal supplies and it turned out so, so cute!

  • Sponge
  • Scissors
  • Toilet Paper Roll
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Construction Paper
  • Kids Washable Paint
  • Green Markers

How to set up sponge painting

First, cut out your sponge into a flower shape. My husband thought I was making a dinosaur foot, but hey I tried! Next, hot glue your toilet paper holder to the sponge. This will help your little one grasp the sponge! Now you are ready to paint!

How to Sponge Paint

We love to find new tools to paint with. It makes the activity more exciting for your little one. We made 9 of these pictures for our family. I let Aliza stamp each paper three times and then we set them aside to dry.

The sponge absorbs the paint and then you can press hard to squeeze it all out. I love the different print/texture the sponge gives the flowers! Once we ran out of purple paint we switched to pink! Once the flowers are dry, use your markers to make pretty stems! Once complete, you’ll have a beautiful bouquet of flowers to give to mom!

I hope you all enjoyed this activity! Don’t forget to subscribe, comment or share this activity with your friends! HAVE FUN
