Happy HALLOWEEN everyone! I hope you have been enjoying all of our fun fall and Halloween themed crafts and activities! Our activities have included sensory play, fine and gross motor skills along with cognition skills. For our last Halloween activity we made these Puffy Ghosts that involved fine motor skills and a little bit of sensory play! This a quick and easy craft that you can do with your little one to celebrate today!
Materials:
- Free Ghost Printable
- Cotton Balls
- Black construction paper
- Popsicle sticks
- Tape
- Elmer’s clear glue
Step By Step Puffy Ghost Activity:
Step 1: Download and print the ghost printable. Cut it out and you are ready to go!
Step 2: Glue the cotton balls to your ghost cut out. You can either apply the glue yourself and let your little on place the cotton balls or if your child is a little older, have them do it themselves. You can use the whole cotton ball to make your ghost EXTRA puffy, or tear them apart and use half. Pulling the cotton ball apart is a good strengthening activity for little hands! It has some resistance which is good to build some strength!
Step 3: Take some time to have fun with your cotton balls. Aliza was having a good time rubbing the cotton ball on her skin. The soft texture is comforting and calming. New textures are always good to introduce to your kids!
Step 4: Cut out your ghost face and glue it on. I traced a circle container to get perfect circle eyes. I can never make a good circle, oh well! We made a smiley face ghost just to continue our “Not so scary” theme. You can get creative and make a spooky ghost face!
Step 5: Finally tape your sticks to the back of your ghost! I used two sticks per ghost. This kept our ghost standing upright. You can also punch holes on the top of your ghost and use black yarn to hang on a wall or from your ceiling.
Simple, fun and cheap! The perfect activity to do with your little one on Halloween! If you have just stumbled across this post and loved it, check out some of the other Halloween activities we have completed this month, including:
